Functional Massage Therapy

Hands-on treatment should help you move forward—not just feel better for an hour.

Functional Massage Therapy is how I combine massage, movement, joint work, education and practical planning. Treatment can help symptoms settle, but the bigger goal is to understand what you need next and build more capacity for the things you want to do.

More than a technique

Massage is one tool. Better function is the goal.

Some people come in because a shoulder, hip, back or tendon is painful. Others feel stiff, guarded, uncertain or unable to return to an activity they value. I use hands-on treatment when it is useful, but I do not assume that pain always means something needs to be “put back,” loosened permanently or fixed by treatment alone.

A session may include massage, myofascial or trigger-point work, joint mobilization, assisted movement, simple strength or loading, and education about how to keep progressing between visits.

What a session can do

Settle symptoms. Clarify the problem. Build the next step.

01 · Settle

Create a better window for movement.

Hands-on treatment can reduce discomfort, guarding or sensitivity enough to make movement feel easier and more successful.

02 · Clarify

Make sense of what matters.

We connect symptoms with your goals, activity, capacity and response so the plan is based on what you actually need.

03 · Build

Turn relief into progress.

Movement, strength, loading and practical home strategies help you build beyond the treatment table.

This may fit if...

You want hands-on care and a plan.

  • • treatment helps, but the same problem keeps returning
  • • you are unsure how much movement or exercise is safe
  • • you want to get back to sport, work, training or daily activity
  • • you prefer treatment that includes education and active participation

You do not need to choose perfectly

Book the problem, not the technique.

You do not need to decide in advance whether you need massage, movement work, assessment, shockwave or a loading plan. Start with what is bothering you and what you want to get back to. We can decide together what is useful.

Hands-on + active care

Use treatment to create momentum.

If you want help settling symptoms and building a clearer path back to activity, start with a session.
