Common Issues We Treat

The initial start for therapy and rehab should always start with a clear assessment of the underlying causes for the condition. It’s pretty hard to fix something if we don’t know what is wrong.

Tight Painful Muscles & Joints

Stiff -immobile -adhesive capsulitis

HyperMobility

Sometimes, joints are too mobile, causing instability and pain. We work to reduce pain, and stabilize.

Pain

Pain is often related to one or more of these underlying causes.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s good to ask questions

I take a systematic and functional approach to treating shoulder issues.

  • Start with listening
  • Fact finding: what are the underlying issues that are preventing your shoulder from getting better
  • Team approach: Are you working with other health care professionals -is there a current diagnosis, do you have medical images or reports with important information
  • Assess based on 4 main factors -Pain, mobility/movement, posture/position, strength
  • Set goals, Plan, Treatment, Progress

This depends on what we find in the assessment and the type of condition we are dealing with.

    • Is it an acute or chronic?
    • Is there underlying tissue damage?
    • What are the factors that may speed up or slow down recovery
    •  What can you do at home to make progress

Yes as a massage therapist, my treatments are covered under health benefits.

Number of treatments/how much is covered depends on your benefits plan. -If cost is a concern, we work together to find the best way to progress
